Hi
i have 1 dl580 g5 with 4 cpu and 64gb ram.
i install suse 10 sp2 64bit but not install but install when ram of the server is 48gb.
why?
please help.

Hi, as far as I can say it should work.

Release notes for 10 SP2 only mentions some issues for 32-bit.

What if you install and then add the rest of the DIMMs? Does it boot then?

If not, maybe there is a high-mem something you need to set?

yes after install os with 48gb i add the remnant of ram and turn on server and boot the os.

Well this problem is also for example seen when installing an OS via the smartstart CD - were you doing that?

I am not so awesome on these kinds of things - but maybe the linux kernel used on the installation media/boot system doesn't support that much RAM.
