DL580 G7 with HP NC552SFP 10Gb 2-port Server Adapter

Hi All

Intermittent issue here. We have 3 x DL580 G7s all with 10Gb NC552SFP cards. Seems these cards have intermittent issues with network performance. The issue has arisen over the past week or so, if we do copies within the 3 servers, or to other servers on the network it happens. We can't get any better speeds than say 20MB/sec. The SFPs are going back to Nexus 55 switches with the 10Gb supported. Some more details :

- All servers run Win2012.

- The Cards all have latest firmware v4.6.203.1

- They are all Windows teamed using LACP, which is also enabled on the switch.

- Copies we are testing are all done using local disk.

- We also have HP Fusion I/O cards with SSD for use with SQL. They are running fine.

- I have already log a call with HP and replaced 1 of the cards, with same slow performance.

Anyone with any suggestions or having similar issues...?

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

I can think here of compatibility and drivers.

Have you installed Windows 2012 drivers for this NC552SFP.

Thank You!

Hello,

it seems from originating post that in close past everything was ok. Can you determine what has changed on all servers or in core infrastructure in past days?

I'd kill flow control unless DCBX requires it.

I'd kill LACP - to normalize.

I'd set MAX performance all the way no o/s intervention.

I'd move the IRQ's around if possible. 3gigabit is 5 million packets non-jumbo.

Btw use a loupe and look for chips that have fallen off the nic :) i've seen SO MANY. abuse!
