DL580 Quad Core???

Hi there,

I'm currently setting up a pair of DL580s as a SQL Cluster. The boxes are quad 3.4Ghz Xeons with 8Gb RAM.

I expected four dual core procs to show up as eight CPUs in task manager, device manager, etc; but instead I see 16 CPUs, even though the BIOS only reports them as dual cores.

Any thoughts...?

Hi Simon

The Xeon 7140M processsors used in this server are HyperThreaded so will show 16 procs in a four way configuration.
