DL580 SERVER BOOTING PROBLEM


I bought a DL580 Server and bought cpu separately.Server display comes and shows Unsupported processor Detected. System Halted.

cpu spec: 700Mhz/100FSB/1M Cache 5/12V.

Settings are there for this spec cpu. But Server not booting

Post the part number/model number thst u see on the processor. I shall check with mine...

1. Processors must be same type/speed.
2. BIOS (System ROM) needs to be latest revision to support the processor(s).
3. Make sure you also have a Processor Power Module (PPM) for the second processor.
4. If the processors have different stepping levels, the processor with the lower stepping should be the bootstrap processsor. If the first three items above are correct, try swapping the processor slots.
