I have a DL580 with 4 - 73 GB drives that is running out of disk space. I would like to buy 146 GB drives (or whatever the next step up is) but how do I find out whether or not they are compatible with my server? The controller is identified as "Compaq Integrated Smart Array Controller" in Windows 2000. Can anyone help? This shouldn't be hard, but I am getting lost on HP's site trying to find out. Thanks in advance!

Howdy,
How about this...
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12195_div/12195_div.html
went to www.hp.com/go/servers
clicked on one I wanted (DL580)& in right hand frame is quickspecs.
I would put an MSA30 enclosure on it and put some disks in that try www.hp.co/go/storage if u are not familiar with MSA range.
You'll need HP Universal disks p/n 286716-B22 for 10krpm and 347708-B22 if u want 15krpm
HTH

Re: DL580 disk compatibility
Wow, thank you for such a fast and thorough response! I apologize, I should have mentioned that it is a discontinued server: DL580 700 Mhz (not G2 or G3). However, your link helped me persist on the Quickspecs path and I found it. Thanks so much!
