DL580 will not boot OS without user response...
I just bought a DL580 and have installed Windows 2000 Server and configured my drive array (it is a Smart Controller 5300) to my desired RAID level. Everything works great, except that when I do a restart (which will be quite frequent with various updates and patches coming out monthly), it always prompts me to continue after initializing the array.
The prompt is:
Press F1 to continue
or F10 to load [I forget the exact wording...but it brings up the configuration utility for the systm)
Obviously this isn't very conveinent to have to access to the physical keyboard on every reboot. I've updated the firmware; no change. Any thoughts?

Re: DL580 will not boot OS without user response...
Hi ScottMcGlynn
that is a feature you need to disable from the BIOS (RBSU)
it's called POST F1 Prompt
Once you're in the BIOS
- go to server availability
- POST F1 Prompt
- and disable option
more info here, page 20

Re: DL580 will not boot OS without user response...
Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, first generation DL's do not have the RSBU.
However, I did find the solution on another forum. The BIOS configuration has to be put into advanced mode by hitting Control-A when it starts, then a new list of 'advanced options' appears in the configuration settings. Disabling the F1 prompt can be done there.
