DL580

Hi,
I am currently trying to do some testing with the above server and just tried add a Smart Array 5300 SCSI controller.

When booting up after inserting the card I got an error saying there is an unsupported pci device in slot 3.

Can anyone tell me if this card is supported.

Thanks
Jamie.

Re: DL580

5300 or 6400 ?
if 6400 you can try only slot 4 or 5

Firmware updates always recommended

Re: DL580

Hi Oleg,

Thanks again. Apologies for my lack of experience. I take it you mean firmware for the Motherboard or do you mean for the controller itself?

I checked for the 5300 in the Firmware Storage Controller section of the link you sent me. I could not find it.

I also read on a HP forum that this controller had been diasbled in the BIOS of the DL560 to force people to upgrade. Have you heard of this?

Thanks
Jamie.
