DL580G7 NC375i gpxe issues. Qlogic chipset

Trying to get DL580G7 to gpxe boot off of the NC375i. (No filename or root path specified). If we install a NC360T all is well. This is happening to 2 different DL580G7's.

Have you confirmed that gpxe supports this chipset?

The NC375i is the intergrated nic on the DL580G7. I am assuming HP has verified the nic works with gpxe.

There is PXE support... not necessarily GPXE.

Why don't you give us more detail on the exact gpxe method you're implementing? Have you tried a standard PXE boot? does it work?

Please see attached screen shot. There is no way to configure the NC375i, Qlogic chip set to use PXE. It is using gpxe.

Yes we have tried port 2. no dice.. The Client has purchased a NC375T pcie card. I think the problem might be the DHCP server. The client is running LUNCENT QIP and not Microsoft.

ok, did they make sure that only port 2 has a cable connected as stated in the advisory? (just making sure)

This version of firmware contains updated gPXE code version 1.0.0 for NC-Series QLogic adapters.


I don't know how to tell what firmware you currently have on the card. There usually is a POST utility that could tell you that (press any key during the proliant splash screen to see boot messages). I guess is worth a shot. It's hard to think this is a DHCP server config problem since the DHCP filename directive is received fine by other chipsets...
