Re: DL585 G1 upgrade from 32G to 64G RAM (4 slot PB)
As per quickspecs
PC3200 memory, running at 400 MHz will be supported on a PC3200-only processor board (012567-001) with 4 DIMM slots, resulting in a system max of 32 GB with 4 processors
It is possible with optional memory board, I guess you already have it... take a look at the memory configuration in quickspecs.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11902_div/11902_div.html#Memory
quickspecs does not list all the memory configuation combination but you can do it provided you are not exceeding the total memory supported on the server.
thanks
Aftab

SolutionI see the contradictory informatiion in the link shared..
Support for industry-standard registered ECC DDR SDRAM memory:
Up to 64 GB at 400 MHz with PC3200 DIMMs (Using 4-Slot Processor / Memory boards with 4GB memory modules)
Rules:
PC3200 memory, running at 400MHz will be supported on a PC3200-only processor board (012567-001) with 4 DIMM slots, resulting in a system max of 32GB with 4 processors
this again list it is supported.
Example #4: Maximum Memory Configuration (Using 4-Slot Processor / Memory Board and 4GB memory modules) Total Memory = 64 GB Location Slot 1 Slot 2 Slot 3 Slot 4
Board 1 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB
Board 2 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB
Board 3 (optional) 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB
Board 4 (optional) 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB 4 GB
So if you have 4 slot processor board it support PC3200 only and MAX capacity can be 64 GB with optional board and example also list that it is a supported configuration...
I guess it is some documentation issue.
thanks,
Aftab
