DL585 G2 will only accept a max of 53GB of RAM?
Have two DL585 G2 servers both with 32 sticks of 2GB PC2-5300 RAM (Part No. 405476-051). Updated the bios, updated all the firmware and have tried every configuration I can think to try and still get an error as if a whole bank of memory is bad if I put anything above 53GB (26 sticks).
Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated!

What does the Insight Display show as far as the various DIMMs go?

Re: DL585 G2 will only accept a max of 53GB of RAM?
Insight Display shows the entire bank lit up amber colored. Say like the processor 3 bank 17-24. I have 64 sticks of the same ram and have tried nearly every combination imaginable in these two servers and both will not accept any more than 53GB and work. If I add 56GB they both display a screen that shows 56GB and the BIOS information and hang at that point.

Re: DL585 G2 will only accept a max of 53GB of RAM?
Very odd you have 2 with the exact same problem.
I would probably reseat the CPU associated with that bank since the memory controller is inside the CPU.
I think, but am not sure, there is also a Voltage regulator that I would double check issecurely inserted and perhap swap the one from that proc with another and see where the problem goes.
All ths is basic troubleshooting. Sorry I dont have a silver bullet here.

You can check server's quickspecs at http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12575_div/12575_div.html#Memory .
Amount of memorry is not you problem, server supports up to 128GB ram when fully populated with 4GB dimms.
