DL585 reboot times

We have DL585 servers using Windows 2003 & SQL 2000. When rebooting the servers may take over an hour to reboot. Any patches available?

We are running Windows Server Enterprise 2003 SP1 & SQL Server Enterprise SP4.

Have you noticed which particular stage of a boot process takes so long?

Maybe a dumb question, but how much memory have you got in these boxes? Is a power-on memory test disabled in the BIOS?

Hi,

I would suggest stop the SQL services then shutdown the box then check the time.

Refer to this artical some issues with windows 2003 with different aplication.

But this is for EXCHANGE.

I would suggest try same method for SQL then check.

I think we may have found the problem. It is with the latest SmartStart 7.2 & 7.3 installations. Here is the link
