DL585 wont boot
Hi,
I have a dl585, 4 processors & 16gb installed.
when the server starts it checks memory which is fine. detects processors, detcets arrays & logical drives with no issues.
It then comes up with:
Broadcom netexteme II ethernet bott agant etc etc
The server then hangs and does not respond to keyboard commands or load the OS. I have tried power cycling the server and reseating the processor bay at the front of the server.
Any ideas why this may be hanging? all LED's on the server are green.
Thanks
Phill

Re: DL585 wont boot
hi
so server sits here "Broadcom netexteme II ethernet bott"
- you can try clear NVRAM (using system maintenance switch position 1 ON)
- minimize server, try 2 processor at a time, minimize memory as well, remove PCI cards not necessary, remove NIC cable, remove storage
- try recovery as well system maintanance Switch position 1, 5 , 6 all ON
let me know of you don't know about this system maintenance switch
regards
