DL740 Overheating!!!

I have a DL740 (current rom, psp7.40a) in which two sensors are reporting unusually high temperatures. In fact one day last week the server actually shut itself down as part of the thermal protection settings (due to Sensor 29 hitting threshold).

Sensors 21 & 29 are consistently in the 50-55C range during normal business hours, while all of the other sensors seem to be well within normal operating ranges (30-40C). I have other servers in the same rack with no problems. The intake temp is about 20C while the exhaust is about 23C (once again seems normal).

This doesn't seem to be a real overheating problem, but maybe just a faulty sensor??? Please advise.

Re: DL740 Overheating!!!

I recommend to update to psp7.60a and the check and set the threshold of the sensors again.

Re: DL740 Overheating!!!

Sorry, I forgot to update this post. After I posted this I did some more investigation and I realized that I had psp7.40a and two fixes for cqmgserv (cp005817 & cp006033) installed. I actually rounded up another dl740 and replicated the problem by applying these two fixes on top of psp7.40a. I then upgraded to psp7.51 and the "problem" went away.
