DLT 20/40 Tape Drive Problems

For this drive to even start working with arcserve you must load patch lo84605 from Arcserve site. We are able to back up the sys volume with no problems. When we go to back up the nds tree we always get the following error - e1039 failed to flush tape drive buffer - drive or media failure - now, this error only happens when backing up the nds tree - after this error happens the tape drive is no longer reconized by the server and netware must be restarted - thank in advance

Appears to be a problem with the software , contact Novell for updates to NDS or contact Computer Associates .

Did you ever manage to get anywhere with this problem?, as we seem to have exactly the same problem on one of our servers, yet the other 9 seem to be OK, even with exactly the same OS, Arcserve settings and firmware etc.

I would be grateful if you could let me know. Thanks

I am having the same problem with Arcserve 6.6 on a ML370 and 20/40Gb DLT drive. I have tried with no service pack on Arcserve 6.6 and seems to be OK to backup.
