DPMS going to off mode

Hi all,
I've got this kind of problem:
when I boot up my server I get on the monitor a sign that says "DPMS going to off mode".
Can someone tell me what could possibly be wrong?.

Hello,
Please make sure your Server has the latest System BIOS. DPMS mode has something to with the Power management functions relating to th Monitor or Video Card. Please check the Power management settings in the Control Panel.

How would a person get to correct this dpms issue if no monitors will power up? Every monitor I connected to the logic box in question give me the same error (dpms off mode) or is blank (black screen w/power light flashing). Thank you in advance.
