Windows Server 2012 is not officially supported on G5 hardware. Windows 7 drivers may work in some cases but they are not tested by HP.

Re: DRIVERS FOR PROLIANT DL380 G5 and SERVER 2012
The ILO drivers for the DL360/380 G6 (which also use ILO 2) work for the DL380 G5. I've done this myself.

Specifically this management controller driver for the ILO 2 and Server 2012 will help get you started:

Re: DRIVERS FOR PROLIANT DL380 G5 and SERVER 2012
In typical HP fashion, they've changed URLs and didn't bother remapping things. They've done a lot of that lately.
Here's the latest link I found for the ILO2 management *interface* driver for x64 editions of Windows:
And the ILO2 management *controller* driver:
Those will probably change eventually as well, so your best bet is to navigate through the support center yourself and get to the drivers for Windows 2012 for a DL360 G6 or DL380 G6 to find the latest and greatest.

Re: DRIVERS FOR PROLIANT DL380 G5 and SERVER 2012
Sorry to resurect a super old post. Just adding to this information so that somebody googling a solution will find it...
On the old DL360 G5, I was able to sucessfully install both the Base Driver and the IPMI driver on both Windows Server 2016 Standard and now Windows Server 2019 Standard (Yes, you read that right).
The two installers you need are CP029664 and CP029667. (You're on your own to find them)
Unfortunately you cannot just run the installers. You to follow these steps first (Do one driver at a time):
1) Right click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator"
2) When the installer opens click the "Extract" check box, and extract them to a folder on your drive.
3) Open the folder you extract the drivers to and locate the .xml file with the installer name (i.e. cp029664.xml or cp029667.xml), right click on the xml file and select "Edit"
4) Scroll to near the bottom of the .xml file and location the section called <prerequisites> <supported_operating_systems>
5) After the the windows server 2012 entries, add the following lines:
<supported_operating_system platform="nt_x86-64" major="10" minor="0" sr="OEM" name="Microsoft Windows Server 2016"/>
<supported_operating_system platform="nt_x86-64" major="10" minor="0" sr="OEM" name="Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Standard"/>
<supported_operating_system platform="nt_x86-64" major="10" minor="0" sr="OEM" name="Microsoft Windows Server 2019"/>
<supported_operating_system platform="nt_x86-64" major="10" minor="0" sr="OEM" name="Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Standard"/>
6) Save and close the .xml file
7) From within the folder you extracted the files to, right click on the installed called "cpqsetup.exe" and select "Run as administrator"
8) Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
9) At the end of the installation, the items will no longer show as missing drivers in device manager.
Works like a charm!

Re: DRIVERS FOR PROLIANT DL380 G5 and SERVER 2012
Hey, thanks!
I've tried it on Windows Server 2019 Standard. Like you said, it works like a charm.
For CP029664

May I know how did you find the right driver?
Because I'm still missing 1 driver, the "scsi controller".

Re: DRIVERS FOR PROLIANT DL380 G5 and SERVER 2012
@svirfnebli Will the below steps modifying the files allow for a fresh install using the drivers from the flash drive?
I have the 3 drivers which I I thought was all that I needed but even after the two you have stated with the modification and the SAS driver I am still prompted for additional device drivers needed to move forward on an install of Server 2019 Esesntials.
Any other thoughts or do I need to start with a diffrent OS and upgrade from there?
