Dead - Now What?

I turn it on, the front light goes on, the fans kick in, but nothing else happens. It never goes into its POST routine. No display, no beeps, nothing. Obviously, normal diagnostics won't work--I can't boot from diskette, I get no POST codes. Any good suggestions on what I can look for? I've checked all connections and everything looks secure. Can this one be saved, or do I now have an expensive doorstop?
