Debian on Proliant DL320 (SATA RAID drivers)

Hi,

We're trying to install debian distribution on a proliant server DL320 with Serial ATA RAID hot-swap hard drives. It seems like only Red Hat supports this configuration.

Is there any debian driver which supports SATA RAID?

Is there anyone who uses this configuration succesfully?

Help, please!

Re: Debian on Proliant DL320 (SATA RAID drivers)

Hi,

I'we got the same problem and finaly I used Suse SLES-9.

I think, the best solution to use Debian is to :
re-build an Debian install cdrom with :
the Suse kernel vmlinuz-2.6.5-7.97-smp and
the Suse initrd (compiled with adpahci-2.6.5-7.97-smp-i386 module)

After, you must used this kernel and the initrd build with adpahci module.

The suse kernel and initrd is included in the suse install. But you must add adpahci module to initrd.
You can find the adpahci module on the hp driver page:

Re: Debian on Proliant DL320 (SATA RAID drivers)

Yesterday I succeded. I took "Ubuntu-Server" which is like Debian. It recognised my hardware without any problem.

Thanks for your help
