Differences between HDD Cage Kits ?

Hi,

We'd like to add additional HDD cage in ML350p Gen8 (we already have one, 6 LFF).

Which one must to use, there are two alternatives found:

659485-B21  5U 6 LFF Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit  or
661717-B21  5U 6 LFF Expander Hard Drive Cage Kit ?

Re: Differences between HDD Cage Kits ?

If you're using hot-plug lff hdd, then you should choose 659485-B21  5U 6 LFF Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit, otherwise choose 61717-B21  5U 6 LFF Expander Hard Drive Cage Kit .

Thank you wanhao. Do I need extra RAID controller for connecting, or will it current enough ?

Re: Differences between HDD Cage Kits ?

Wrong answer. ML350p Gen8 only support Hot-Plug HDDs.

Check: QuickSpecs

You should take HP 5U 6 LFF Expander Hard Drive Cage Kit 661717-B21 if you want to use existing RAID controller for both HDD cages.

or take HP 5U 6 Large Form Factor (LFF) Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit 659485-B21, if you will use separate/additional RAID controller for new cage.
