Hi, I have a dl-385 with 2xDual-core processors, and i want to disable one of them so it only works with 2 cores instead 4 (i need that for performance tests). Is it possible to disable one of them without removing it from the box?
Thank you in advance.

Solution
Hi bilbaoppp,
Sorry to say that DL385 have no option for us to disable function of the processors even through the CMOS bios. You must manually remove out the 2nd processor from the motherboard ..but no need to add in any terminator module to the empty slot compare with the old type of proliant servers.
I think you should get advice from the hardware technical person to assist you.

Re: Disable a processor - DL385
Hello Bibaoppp, the 385's RBSU does not offer any option so disable the 2nd processor, that being said, the only viable option is to remove the proc. physically, and please remember to remove the PPM as well, otherwise the server will not POST at all.
