Disaster Recovery error cpq32fs2.sys in [SourceDisksFiles]

When we run Cheyenne Disaster Recovery on our ML370 with Arcserve 2000 we get an error with OBDR (one button disaster recovery) booting from tape.

The Windows NT dos setup starts and we press F6 to specify additional drivers. When prompted we supply the drivers disk for the Compaq 32-Bit SCSI Controller Driver for Windows 2000 then we select Dual Channel and the setup proceeds. But after 10 or 20 secs the following error is displayed:

"The entry CPQ32fs2.sys in the [SourceDiskFiles] section of
the inf file is corrupt or missing. Setup cannot continue.
Press any key to exit."

The driver we used on our Compaq ML370:

What tape drive? Are you using the Array controller in this system?

We use the Compaq 20/40 GB DAT unit and Compaq Smart Array 3200 controller with 3 hot swapable disks in RAID5 configuration.

Re: Disaster Recovery error cpq32fs2.sys in [SourceDisksFiles]

try loading the symbios driver for the controller instead of CPQ32FS2.SYS to see if that works.

Re: Disaster Recovery error cpq32fs2.sys in [SourceDisksFiles]

We do have the same problem (with bootable cd and with boot disks (all Windows 2000 server/ArcServe2000) and I also have the feeling that a wrong driver is causing the problem (tape light shortly flashes 5-6 times and than the proces is waiting(?) for approx. 6 minutes then asking to mount tape .... which is inserted.

Is a solution found for this problem?
Where can I find this symbios driver for the internal scsi controller?

Thanks in advance and regards,

Re: Disaster Recovery error cpq32fs2.sys in [SourceDisksFiles]

We were in the fortunate position to have a Proliant DL380 also for testing.
Creating the bootable cd on this unit and than using it on our ML370 did solve the problem as snow dissapears in the sun. If possible try to create the cd on another server. Only the machine specific disk needs to be made on the server itself.

Please be aware that (as far as we did test it and we did very much testing) the machine specific information needs to be generated after each backup, otherwhise it can't be restored.
