Disk Swap on DL320G5 P400 SAS
Hi Folks
Is it possible to simply remove the drives of a failed DL320G5 server with a P400 Controller and insert them into another DL320G5 with a P400 controller also and have the new server see the old RAID Array?
The RAID in question here is a RAID1 array. Is the RAID information stored on the drives or in the controller?
Thanks
Andy

Re: Disk Swap on DL320G5 P400 SAS
Yes.
The RAID setup and status i stored on the disks.
I will recommend that you ensure, that the spare server got at least the same FW/BIOS level, or newer as the failed server.
