Disk array controller not detected via BIOS

The array conroller does not detect itslef via the BIOS Advanced Config Menu. It' simply states that "no array controller present", yet i can boot from this "phantom" array controller. Thyis server has the Compaq Ultra3 Array Controller as well as the Ultra2 imbedded controller. The ACU cannot detect either pof them!

Re: Disk array controller not detected via BIOS

Can you be more specific about what controllers you have installed... "Ultra3" is not a name for any of our Array controllers. If you have a card that is just an "Ultra3" SCSI controller, it's NOT an array.

Re: Disk array controller not detected via BIOS

Sure, here is the more elaborate problem:

The ulta3 controller is Compaq part no 129803-b21 Ultra 3 HBA D/Channel All.

The other controller is the imbedded Ultra2 "Smart Array" that is included onboard the ML570 series servers.

The Array configuration utility simply states that no controller is detected, that it's improperlyseated, or that the OS has no logical dives defined. (error code 15001)

The interesting part is that during POST all the hard disks are identified. I can even install the OS on a solitary partition on one drive.

This, unfortunately is wholly unacceptable.

Is there a solution to this problem?
