Disk failure
Hello all,
I have a very old Compaq Proliant 3000 server, running win NT + SP6.1. It has a smart 2dh raid controller and 6 disks have been configured on RAID5. We had a power crash in the whole building and now one of the HDD is faulty and there is an amber light and there is error message.
I have managed to get a refurbished replacement HDD but since this is a prod server, I want to know if I can rebuild the raid online. If so, do I have to issue any special command ??? Can someone guide me. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can do it online.
You need to use ACU to check and confirm the same. Rebuilding is automatic.

I do not have ACU installed. But I have donloaded from the website. so I just plug the HDD and can do it online ??

Try to follow the below steps.
Open ACU Check the information on failed hdd.
Then remove the failed hdd.
Plug the new HDD.
Check it will show you rebuilding in ACU.
