Re: Dl380 G4 and SCSi port
attached to the external port on the Smart Array or what?
Are the disks safe? I mean: when you remove the Ultrium, it boots normally?
Checked specs of the scsi connectors?

Re: Dl380 G4 and SCSi port
scsi id has been assigned and without tape drive installed, hard disks are working well.
The scsi connectors are safe and it is necessary to mention that this package works fine on ML series server.

Tried to change the SCSI ID? What ID did you assigned?

Re: Dl380 G4 and SCSi port
The external SCSI port of the DL380 G4 can only be used if you have the following existing configuration:-
Embedded Simplex
PCI Simplex
PCI Duplex
Mixed Duplex where it doesn't use the port which goes to the rear of the chassis.
If this is OK then it must be a clash of SCSI ID's.
Please see attached PDF file for configuration guidelines.
I hope this helps.
