Hi Guys,
One of my servers hangs on POST (just after raid controller) when server is populated with unbuffered RAM. Does anyone came accross that?
Past initialization and nearly full POST but cannot go any further. I also cannot get to setup or IP., but shows right amount of mmory.
Server works fine with registered memory.
Please help.
I have got part numbers if we need,
KInd Regards
Slav

Re: Dl380g8 hangs with Unbuffered ram installed
Hello
This seems to be not a server memory. Please use the compatible spare parts. Please find the below link

Thanks

Re: Dl380g8 hangs with Unbuffered ram installed
Hi
If they wouldn't be server memory system will failed on memory initialization no on the end of the POST, I would guess.

Re: Dl380g8 hangs with Unbuffered ram installed
Hello
The spare number you have mentioned that is not a server memory. HPE does not recommend to install the same. Installing non-server memory will lead to an outage.
Thanks

While UDIMM are supported they must be ECC. The part numbers you've provided appear to be for non-ECC UDIMM
