Dl385p g8 rail issue

Installed the new server in our APC net shelter 4 post rack and the server sticks out of the rack by 2+ inches.  Missing the rail instructions.  Does anyone know if there is a way to have the rack extend beyond the back of the rack?  Can't find any manuals online for the rails.  Can't believe this is the new standard depth of the HP servers, and if it is it's time to go back to Dell.

Re: Dl385p g8 rail issue

hello, it seems you have to small rack acording APC quickpesc at http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AR203A . It can not hold longer servers (nothing unusuall for many years already). If you buy HP or Dell rack, all are 1 meter deep and can hold such servers - as example here :"http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12402_div/12402_div.HTML#Technical Specifications" . Only thing to avoid is is to carefully read server quickpecs before bying it. I understand it could be surprise for first time, but such servers are common.

As an example, dell equivalent R720 is according quickpecs at http://i.dell.com/sites/content/shared-content/data-sheets/en/Documents/dell-poweredge-r720-r720xd-technical-guide.pdf only 2,5cm shorter - and your problem will not solve.
