Hello,
I have a proliant 5500 with a smart array 3200 controller and no OS installed. Can I reconfigure the array and install an OS without using a SmartStart CD? If this is possible, please explain how.
Tony

Re: Do i really nead a SmartStart CD
Hello Tony,
For basic installation you dont need the Smart Start CD but if you intend to set up raid then surely you do. For all what it is worth I would suggest you do obtain Smart Start 5.50. Once again the ph no to call for Smart Start CD is 1-800-573-1099. The folks are pretty prompt to ship. For basic hardware configuration you would need System configuration utility i.e. SP19619. I provided you the link to download already. Windows 2000 has built in divers for SA3200 controller.
