Does Smart Start 7.3 not support SATA RAID on the DL320 G3?

Hello all. We have just purchased a new DL 320 G3 server, and when we went in to enable RAID mirroring, and tried to set the server up using Smart Start 7.3, it came back and said it is an unsupported configuration. I can't find a peep anywhere on the HP web site that says you can't use Smart Start with RAID turned on. Can anybody confirm this?

You would right, the SmartStart cannot be used if the embedded sata raid is enabled.


This is from the user guide:
"This feature is not available when configuring drives with the embedded SATA controller." (meaning the smartstart feature)
"For SATA RAID configuration, a driver diskette must be created. "

Hi

There is no in-built driver for the SATA drive, you could download and create the driver disks and use during the install/config.
