Does original DL380 support 147 SCSI Hot plug drive?

I have on old DL380 PIII 800 x 2 CPU with 1 hot plug 18.2 GB SCSI drive.

I am interested to find out whether this machine would support a Compaq Hot Plug Ultra320 SCSI Disk Drive 146GB. Will it work?

If not can other SCSI drive be used that aren't Compaq?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Re: Does original DL380 support 147 SCSI Hot plug drive?

Hi William:

Yes the U320 146 drives are backward compatable with WU2 WU3 drive cage; and they will work fine on that server.

Make sure all bios are uptodate for the system board and Array cotnroller.

You will not have any issues.

That's excellent news, thank you.

Another question, can you insert an ide pci card into the above server and use ide drives?

Yes you can if the card is detected at post; and you update the bios after you install the card; meaning; go to F10 and make sure that the board has been added; there should be no issue.

IDE ATA or just IDE card.

Best regards,

Tarek.
