After installtion al the compaq agents on our new DL580 we started to get the fallowing Dr.Watson message:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The application, exe\cpmgserv.DBG, genereated an application error. The error occurred on 1\10\2001 @ 15:31:19. 78 The execption generated was c0000005 at addess 40883bcd (getResourceValue)

The server is an NT 4.0 with sp6a and Exchange 5.5 server with service pack 4.

Re: Dr.Watson

Are you sure that's the right file name? I can't find anything on it that has to do with us... Do you have some other type of monitoring software already installed (something from "CPMG" maybe)?

Re: Dr.Watson

I am getting the same error after I installed Veritas backup exes 8.5 on an N 4.0 sp6 DL380 . I am using 4.90 Insight agents and both the server and foundation agents give a Jr Watson when they try to start. I have uninstalled and re installed the agents and the same problem occurs. Tomorrow I will try uninstalling Backup exes and the insight agents then reapply sp6 and the latest cpqbundl drivers then see what happens. Any ideas would help?

Re: Dr.Watson

I also have this problem with the exact same message and memory address. However, I have one extra bit of information. I have identically built two DL580's in two different domains. The server in domain A fails in the same manner as described on the original post. The server in domain B works just fine.

It makes me think there is a user access right or other domain policy that is coming into play. But I have been unsuccessful in determine what it may be.

Compaq - What happens at the time this service starts? What is it doing? What is it looking for? What domain policies are required for successful operation? How do you explain the fact that it works fine in domain B, but not in domain A?

Re: Dr.Watson

Here is the Dr. Watson Log from this incident. Can anyone at Compaq identify a cause from this?
