Drive Not seen in new HD Install
I am installing a second drive. The current drive is a 4.5GB SCSI drive, the new drive is a an Ultra PCI 45GB Drive.
I installed the new Ultra controller successfully and then attached the drive after installing the appropriate drivers.
Upon reboot the system recognizes the new Ultra Controller first and the existing SCSI second. The operating System resides on the SCSI, so NT will not boot as it can't see it. My plan was to leave the operating system on the SCSI and move only the data files to the new drive.
I've tried every utility I know (including Smart Start) to try to change the order the drives are recognized and have been unsuccessful. How can I make the system see the SCSI first?
Ruth

Re: Drive Not seen in new HD Install
What controller are you installing , is it a Compaq controller ?
if the controller is not a Compaq controller , does it have a BIOS on it ? if so try disabling the BIOS in the controller you installed .
