Drives for Raid Configuration

Hello. I have a doubt regarding raid configurarion.

I have a DL180G6 server with four 250GB SATA LFF hard drives in a RAID 5 + Spare configuration.

One of the hard drives is broken and needs to be replaced, but I don´t have (and can´t get) the same drive.

Is it possible to use a different drive to replace it(for example, one with more capacity or a SAS drive)?. Will the raid work?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

you can use a larger SATA disk (not SAS). You will not be able to use the excess space.

Hi,

HDD much same interface, if all is SAS, then you much replace it as SAS

All is SATA of course much SATA too

P.S. all of above is base on in same Logical Volumn.

Thanks to all for the answers.

I'll buy a bigger drive then.
