Drives not recognized Properly

I am installing two IBM 4 gig drives ( raid 1) as my C partition for NT and Apps and the 5 36 gig drives as database storage (raid 5)

I have a Compaq 3200 Array controller and all the drives are plugged into it.

When using the Array configuration utility I see all the drive and I am able to configure both arrays as I want.

Then trying to install NT. It lists the drives as 4 gig, but only sees 1 gig available. I tried installing on this partition hoping I could use the disk administrator to add the remaining space, but after NT seems to load and asks for a reboot it can't find the drive. I have formatted the drive using FAT and NTFS with the same result.

Using the diagnostic utility the error is that Port 1 drives are not stamped for monitoring. What does this mean and how to I fix it?

Thanks

Re: Drives not recognized Properly

Are these drives "off the shelf" IBM drives (not Compaq)? We don't really support 3rd-party drives on our array controllers due to possible compatibility issues between "supposedly" identical drives, among other reasons...
