Dual CPUs not Detected

I am running Suse 10.2 on a Proliant 3000 with Dual CPU's but Suse is only detecting 1 CPU. When I turn on the server it shows 2 CPU's.

Anyone know how to get both CPU's working. I tried installing a SMP kernel but that didn't work.

Re: Dual CPUs not Detected

Only the SMP kernel can detect all the processors and/or procesor core (in case of multi core proc) in the system.

If you boot into to the UP / standard kernel, then you can able to view only one processor.

What is the error you are getting when installing SMP kernel?

Re: Dual CPUs not Detected

Access the setup partition on boot or use SmartStart 5.50 to access system setup.
In advanced menu set the APIC mode to FULL.
