Dual Processor Board Upgrade

I bought a dual processor board for my old Proliant 1500 and am trying to get it to work right. I just pulled the old one out and stuck this one in. I ran the config utility. I get a message telling me I have two processors and to contact Compaq to get my system to use them correctly. When I run a diagnosis, the second processor always fails the ID test. I swapped the two processors and got the same result. But on boot it indicates 2 processors. I don't know if I have a bad board or am just not setting it up correctly. The sw1 settings are correct.

Re: Dual Processor Board Upgrade

I read through some more posts and found the stuff about setting up the APIC mode. Now the 2nd processor initializes on boot. Now I'm going to load the multiprocessor HAL on NT...so things seem to be working now

Yes, it's working now. NT is recognizing the second processor....
