Hi Again,
Will standard Windows 2000 SP4 support Dual XEON processors or will the hyper threading make it appear as 4 processor requiring the Advanced Server version. thanks

Hi Glen:
No.. for licencing purposes... Windows recognizes that the 2 "physical" processors exist and the HyperThreading is just an "effect".
It gets weird when you see the 8 way systems run 16 hyperthreads

Hmmm... my answer is: You are still ok to run standard edition 2000 (4 CPU Limit) but,
I need to modify that Win2K will see the 2 hyperthreaded (4 logical) processors as 4 physical processors.

I was thinking of 2003 Server, which can tell the diference between physical and logical. Hope this is as clear as mud now. LOL
