EFI Command Prompt

I have a Proliant DL380 G3 server running Windows Server 2003 with a smart array 5i controller embedded and a smart array 6400 controller. I'm getting an error saying that the battery on the 6400 is dead and cannot be recharged. HP support recommended that we upgrade the firmware for the controller just to be sure it's not a false positive and then replace the battery if the error is genuine and continues. My question is, the firmware upgrade says you need to run a command from the EFI command prompt and I am completely unfamiliar with EFI and don't even know how to get to an EFI command prompt. Can anyone out there show me the way?

Re: EFI Command Prompt

EFI is on Integrity servers only, not on Proliants.

You have the wrong firmware source - try smartstart firmware CD.

Hope this helps!

Re: EFI Command Prompt

That was what I needed. I found the Firmware Maintenance CD ISO file. That utility helped me update all the firmware on the server.
Thanks for your reply.
