Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
hello everyone, I have this problem for almost 3 months and I couldn't find any solution for it on the internet so I decided to put it here. I have 2 logs in my ilo that I think my server freezing is because of that, the server is dl380 g9, and server 2019 is been installed on it.
the problem is my server freeze and I have to restart to work fine.
Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.

Re: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
Hello. i am answering because this entire HPE forum thing is full of dead weight. they look but don't respond. so i thought i'd break that.
In case of a freezing system, (i work with pc's mainly) i first check the very basics.
Hardware:
-is the hardware getting too hot? If so, is it a specific area on the board or ancillary?
-Are cables firmly and correctly located? Sometimes the wires pull away from inside their connectors, making occasional shorting.
In this case the SD card is throwing an error.
Have you removed the SD card?
is it business critical? if so you will have to stay late, take the card out and try and see if it continues and come back in early and replace it before start of business day. Either way.. make a clone of it on a brand new card of the correct speed.
If freezing does not continue when removed, the SD card is faulty, or the card receptical is.
Try the cloned card. Does that freezing still occur?
...
Software: Check the logs/event viewer in O/S. for the times preceding the freezing. Go from there. beware that sometimes log entries are the later symptoms of an earlier problem caused.. so do go through the history a bit. and if possible compare days when the freezing not occur to days when it does. yes.. tedious. sorry.
Good luck friend. I wish you well.

Re: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
Hi afshin980..
just to add to my previous reply. the best way to get a correct answer on the internet, is to propose a wrong answer.
human nature:
muth*********rs cant wait to show themselves as important and humiliate and stomp on others wrong answers.. so just post a wrong answer.. it'll invoke responses.
I hope i hoped ya.

Re: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
Hi,
the Message "Embedded Flash/SD-CARD" is not the SD-Card, it is corrupted NAND memory from the iLO.
So Update the iLO to the latest version and follow the iLO NAND Format, as Thorsten posted:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00048622en_us
But the Server reset, may not come from this message.
It can also be a Power Supply problem or a Hung OS.
You can disable the ASR Feature, to see if it is an OS Hung problem.

======================
That was not planned in this way.

Re: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
Try to pull the plugs for a real ILO reboot.
Check ILO health page.
Result?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Failed restart. Embedded Flash/SD-CARD: Restarted.
Hi asfhimn,
The others have posted knowledgeable answers after, which we should be grateful for. They have the experience and i respect that. So thanks to them
The other chaps have said update iLO as Nand is corrupted. do that.
Just a quick question. did you try with card completely removed instead of replaced? thats just for my brain. the others have better and reliable answers over my guesswork. but i would have liked to have known.
anyway. keep going. keep well and keep covid free!
Best wishes friend.
