What is the server generation? I would recommend to update the BIOS System ROM. Or clean the NVRAM. Press F9 to get into the BIOS, Then advanced/erase non-volatil memory. Or advanced options/ Processor hyper-threading / enable depending on the BIOS there might be additional CPU options.
If it's not fun, you're not doing it right

It is the first generation, exact mark is "Compaq ProLiant ML370R01 P800-256 128 EURO"

There is System ROM Rev. 18.dec.2002 family P17. It is most recent I have found for that HW.

To clean NVRAM did not help. F9 doesn't work on that HW. F10 is the option to get into the "bios" or to boot from SmartStart CD.

The system was running for two years with no any HW problem with OpenBSD installed. I have changed (upgraded) HDDs and have ran System Erase Utility from SmarStart CD (ver 5.50). From that point I can see only one CPU while OpenBSD boots (I did not try to install system I do not think it helps).

I am pretty sure it is only some config option, but I don't know witch one and where.

Re: Enable second CPU in BIOS on Proliant ML370 P800

I solved this - finaly.
There has to be "Full Table Mapped" configured in APIC Mode in the bios advanced config.
After saving I have powered off-on (I have unpludged power cord ;-) ) and installed OpenBSD. It is necessary to boot bsd.mp kernel to see more than one CPU.
I hope this help.
