Environment Abnormality Auto Shutdown (EAAS) initiated due to thermal reasons

The thermal degraded actions in System Management appear to be continue and shutdown. Shutdown seems to be restart - anyone know of a way to actually have the server shutdown when this condition is reached?

Re: Environment Abnormality Auto Shutdown (EAAS) initiated due to thermal reasons

Hi Andrew,

The /etc/envd.conf determines the actions that system will take when threshholds are reached. The hardware guide should give you the required details

You can install a manageable temperature sensor on your server rack , which can be accessible through web, can send mail/sms to you once it crosses the threshold. ( APC has installed the same at our DC)

Also our SAN Switch (Storageworks 2/8v) is manageable over LAN so that I can check my server room temperature from my home by checking the switch temperature status ( Switch is having 4 temperature sensors installed).

Hope these informations will help you..
