Re: Error installing Windows server 2008: hpssbem.exe
To make it work, do the following:
First you need to upgrade your BIOS to must current version.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3984625&prodNameId=3984626&swEnvOID=4022&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-31b243692cec4bb6ac0872e89a
Then you have two options:
1.- Download easy setup CD ver 2.30 and install Windows server ROK using it.

2.- Use an external DVDROM and provide RAID drivers via USB during installation.
You can say thanks by giving points.
Good luck!

Re: Error installing Windows server 2008: hpssbem.exe
Having exactly the same error message buton a Proliant DL380G6 (also WINDOWS SERVER 2008 STANDARD FOR HP PROLIANT SERVERS (64-BIT))
Raid1 is activated through the Smartstart 4.8 CD though.
Any ideas?

Re: Error installing Windows server 2008: hpssbem.exe
Glad to help,;)
EJO:
Try to download latest BIOS version, maybe you have an older one.
Smartstart 4.8 is pretty old, didn´t you mean 8.4?
Best regards.
