Iam using NTbackup in Windows 2003 sp1 for HP DL380 G3 server with HP DLT VS 80 tape ( External). Iam using two DLT tapes, once the first tape is full, system is not ejecting the same to insert the next tape.

In event log following error is logged.

drive detected a controller error on /device/scsi/cpqcissm1.

pls help me out on this issue...

you tape drive is connect Smart Array controller???

Flash Smart firmware is retry.
Theoretically said that, HP does not recommend the tape drive connection in the smart array card.
