Exchange Information Store Errors

Hi

We have a DL 380 with Smart array 6i controller (Firm rev B 2.36) Driver 12/10/2004 5.64.0.32 and are receiving the following errors in our application log on exchange:

Event ID 509 Performance, source ESS
A request to read from information store ...priv1.edb succeeded but took an abnormally long time (351 seconds) to be serviced by the OS.

Questions:

Will a array controller firmware or driver update help or is this a hardware cache memory issue?

Should I look at a setting on the controller card itself, such as turning off write cache or something similar?

Well you 're smart array version is 2.36 it think it at 2.76 (cp007619.exe)

Wich DL 380 do you have G1, g2, g3, g4 or g5?

So you need to upgrade 2.36 to 2.76
and you driver also from 5.64.0.32 to 5.76.0.32, i dont think the driver will a big difference but you firmware for the array will!!

Do you sure your SmartArray 6i has write cache ? I think by default 6i doesn't have BBWC. Anyway, I think event 509 not related to read/write cache ratio

3) If you see these events only during Exchange IS maintenance (backup or online defragmentation, for example) it maybe normal situation
