Expand Array error 15320: created on different controller

Expand Array error 15320: created on different controller

I have inserted a 36gb drive to add to 4x36gb array on a DL380G2. The ACU reports the error attached: 15320 requested array expansion not possible. I am not sure of the history, but this array may have been moved to a DL380G4 at some point.
Is it possible to overcome this error, or do I have to take both servers down, move all drives to the G4 to expand, then move back?
