Expand Existing Array ML530

I have a ML530 with a Smart Array 431 running RAID5 with 5 36.4Gb drives on Windows 2000 Server sp3. I am looking to expand the existing array with another disk by adding to the existing array through Comapaq Array configuration utility v2.90A. However It reports that W2K doesn't support this. I have checked out both http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;294244 and http://wwss1pro.compaq.com/support/reference_library/viewdocument.asp?countrycode=1000&prodid=36&source=EM000915_CW01.xml&dt=3&docid=2996.
I am having problems finding information specific to the 431 controler.
Has anyone done this? Can they advise how to proceed?

Many thanx
Gavin
