Expand/Extending a disk array

I have a ML350 G4 Server running Windows 2003 SP1. The disk array has x3 72.8GB drives in a RAID 5 configuration. I have added an extra drive and expanded the array. In the ACU I can see the original Logical Drive 1(138919MB RAID 5) and then Unused Space (92615MB).

Do I need to now extend the size of Logical Drive 1 in the ACU to be able to see it in Window Disk Management? If so will the extend size be (Logical Drive 1 + Unused space)?

Re: Expand/Extending a disk array

Hi,

yes after expanding the array you have to extend the logical drive.

It will be seen in the Disk management and you can use diskpart.exe to extend the windows partition in case it is not the system partition (C:)

Thanks. Is the extend size be (Logical Drive 1 space + Unused space)?
