Expanding array

We have a Proliant 3000 with a Smart 2-DH controller and two 9.1GB drives mirrored.

Can we expand the array by removing one of the 9.1Gb drives and replacing it with an 18.2Gb drive and then waiting for it to rebuild before repeating the procedure with the other disk? or should we create a second array?

You can swapped the drives as stated , one at a time until both drives have replaced and rebuilt .
