Expansion ROM initialization failed

Hello:

I have problems with a hp proliant G3 ML150
server, its a new machine and I´m trying to
install new hardware:

SAS 15 krpm de 146gb(Serial Attached SCSI) Hot-Plug hard drive

it needs controller card:
HP SmartArray E200
documentation said just install smartarray card, install hard drive and autoconfiguration
will do next, however when it boot smartarray
drive search for hard drives, don´t detect it
and reboot machine with follow message:

Expansion ROM initialization failed - PCI Mass Storage Controller on
Motherboard.

I found Hp web info about upgrade Firmware
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/26714.html

but it is for windows system and will use it linux (ubuntu or mandriva).

Any idea? I will appreciate help you can give me.

Regards

Sylvia

Re: Expansion ROM initialization failed

I am getting the same problem but intermittently. I already have the latest firmware for both the E200 controller card and motherboard.

Re: Expansion ROM initialization failed

Replace the Cache module of E200 controller. It would resolve the issue.
