Experiencing Win 2003 slow reboot with Smartstart 7.2 & 7.3

After building a Proliant DL360 G1,G2,G3,G4, or DL740 server utilizing either Smartstart 7.2 or 7.3, the server takes up to 5 minutes just to shutdown attempting to reboot. This occurs on any version of Windows Server 2003. I have not observed this problem building these servers with Smartstart 7.1 or earlier. So at this point, I cannot upgrade to the most current version until this issue is resolved. Has anyone seen this problem?

Thank You

Try to upgrade firmware on the smart array controller and try latest BIOS upgrade.

Re: Experiencing Win 2003 slow reboot with Smartstart 7.2 & 7.3

Thanks guys. Terry's link provided the cause of the problem. It is the HP System Management Homepage service in Smartstart 7.2 and 7.3 which cause the slow logoff or reboot of the system. Once I stopped that service, the server rebooted in a timely fashion. Looks like HP will be addressing this issue in the next Smartstart release.
